Chiropractic adjustments

Hands-On Care. Better Motion.

An adjustment is a precise, hands-on movement applied to a joint that isn't moving the way it should. The goal is simple: help your body move more freely so you can get on with your day.

Dr. Fox uses a range of adjusting techniques, from traditional manual adjustments to gentler instrument-assisted and low-force approaches. Which one we use depends on your body, your comfort, and what we find during your exam.

Adjustments are one part of a practical plan. Alongside hands-on care, you'll get straightforward guidance on movement, posture, and the everyday habits that keep progress going between visits.

Adjustments are often part of care for

  • Stiffness or restricted motion in the back, neck, or hips
  • Recurring tension after long days at a desk, in a truck, or on your feet
  • Joint discomfort that flares with lifting, yard work, or hiking
  • Maintaining mobility as part of an active routine

Common questions

Chiropractic Adjustments: Common Questions

Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?

Most people describe an adjustment as a feeling of pressure followed by relief. Some soreness afterward, similar to a workout, can happen and usually settles within a day. If you're nervous, tell us. Gentler techniques are always an option.

What is the popping sound?

That sound is gas releasing from the fluid inside the joint as it moves, much like cracking your knuckles. It isn't bones rubbing, and it isn't required for an adjustment to be effective.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on what's going on and how long it's been there. After your first visit, Dr. Fox lays out a plan with a clear timeline and checks progress along the way. You'll never be guessing.
