Back pain

Get Your Back Back.

Back pain is one of the most common reasons people walk through our door. Whether it showed up after a long drive, a heavy lift, or slowly over years, we start by finding what's actually limiting you.

Most back pain is mechanical: joints, muscles, and movement patterns that have stopped working together. That's good news, because mechanical problems tend to respond well to conservative, hands-on care and a sensible plan.

Your first visit includes a thorough history and movement exam. From there, care may include adjustments, soft-tissue work, and simple exercises you can do at home. If we think you need imaging or another provider, we'll say so plainly.

Common reasons people come in

  • A dull, persistent ache in the lower back
  • Stiffness first thing in the morning or after sitting
  • Pain that flares with bending, lifting, or twisting
  • Discomfort that limits work, sleep, or time outside

Common questions

Back Pain: Common Questions

Should I see a chiropractor for lower back pain?

For most everyday back pain, conservative care like chiropractic is a reasonable first step. During your exam, Dr. Fox screens for signs that need a different kind of care and will refer you if that's the right call.

How soon will I feel better?

Everyone is different. Many people notice a change within the first few visits, while long-standing problems can take more time. We track progress at each visit and adjust the plan together.

Do I need an X-ray first?

Not usually. Imaging is only ordered when the exam suggests it would change how we treat you.
